Gatehouse Green Learning Trust is governed by a board of trustees who oversee the management and administration of the trust and its academies. The trustees, who are appointed by the members, are accountable for the quality of the education and the effective use of funding. Each academy also has its own local governing body, representing its community.
Welcome from the Chair of the Trust Board, Richard Daws OBE
A very warm welcome to the Governance section of the Gatehouse Green Learning Trust website.
As a relatively new Multi Academy Trust, GGLT has the privilege, honour and responsibility for five schools in the central Bristol area. These were brought together in order to provide an exceptional and inspiring educational experience for over 3200 local children, and to reflect and serve our community in the best possible way.
As the second Chair of Trustees, I am delighted to be part of the GGLT journey. I am fortunate to be joined in this endeavour by an exceptional CEO, Sarah Baker, and a diverse and highly experienced group of trustees with a variety of education and non-education experiences and backgrounds. We work closely as a team to oversee the setting of strategy and policy that enables the immensely hard working and exceptionally capable individual School Leadership Teams, plus all the teaching and support staff who sit at the heart of GGLT and make it what it is.
Our collective aim as a board is for GGLT to deliver the highest possible quality of education and care for each child in the trust and to ensure that it is an amazing place to work for every member of staff. These are the reasons that each of the trustees sought to be involved and provide support and guidance to GGLT. For myself, having benefited from and seen my children grow up in the Bristol area this is a great opportunity to be able to contribute to the shaping of the next generation. The whole trust board shares this motivation and we thank you all for allowing us to do so.
